Everyone will experience some type of dry skin on their body and this usually happens during the winter months, you can also get dry skin as we get older and by applying a good moisturizing treatment this can help make your skin less dry and more radiant.

The most common cause of dry skin is your diet, if your diet consists of a lot of sugar and processed foods this is very bad for your skin. You should start changing your diet and eating fresh leafy green vegetables and also fresh fruits. By making these small changes to your diet, you should see an improvement in your skin. Caffeine can also dehydrate your skin, so it is recommended to reduce the amount of coffee or chocolate in your diet.

Drinking enough water every day is also important especially if you are prone to having dry skin. It is recommended that you drink at least 8 glasses of water and they should be spread out through the day. Not only does this help moisturize your skin it can also improve your digestion and minimize bloating.

Individuals 50 and over must apply an effective dry skin treatment to help moisturize the skin and also slow down the aging process. This should be done every day and it is also important to protect your skin when you go out into the sun. An anti aging cream that contains aloe vera has been shown to help increase moisture in the skin and also help prevent getting fine lines.

Using natural face creams that contain avocado oil, almond oil or grape seed oil is also recommended as they will not cause any harsh skin reactions and are also very safe to use even on children. The best time to use natural dry skin treatments is right after you take a bath and it may take up to a week to see good results.

To help get rid of dry skin on your body, you may want to try adding some lavender oil to your bath. You will only need 4 or 5 drops for it to be effective or you can also purchase milk bath products which also can help with your dry skin.

No matter what dry skin treatment that you choose, you should see good results within a few months. If none of these treatments have worked for you , it is recommended that you see a dermatologist to find out other treatments that will work for you.
